Chairman Yan Lijin was invited to attend the ISPRS Geospatial Week 2023

The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) is an academic organization dedicated to promoting the development, application, and exchange of international photogrammetry, remote sensing, and spatial information technology. It was established in 1910 and has members from nearly 200 countries and regions. ISPRS is known for its long history of academic activities, well-established organization structure, wide participation, significant influence, and high visibility. The ISPRS Geospatial Week (GSW) is one of the most important academic events organized by ISPRS, held every two years, featuring around 60 working groups organizing academic conferences on various themes.
GSW’2023 was held in Cairo, Egypt from September 2nd to 7th, 2023, under the theme “Remote Sensing For Better Future”. It included 29 special sessions and dozens of technology exhibitions, with more than one thousand participants. The conference was hosted by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport and received great support from the Arab League and the Egyptian government. During the conference, the ISPRS Executive Committee held meetings to discuss the organization’s key work plans.

Chairman Yan Lijin of China Silk Road Group was invited to attend the opening ceremony and plenary session and engaged in in-depth discussions with key members of the ISPRS Executive Committee, including the President and Secretary-General. Both parties reached a consensus on jointly expanding remote sensing and spatial information services and strengthening talent development. Subsequently, they will jointly discuss cooperation plans and work programs to advance the global high-quality and sustainable development of remote sensing and spatial information services.

China Silk Road Group’s subsidiary, China International Geoinformation Co., Ltd., as an enterprise member of ISPRS, will leverage its strengths in technical fields such as remote sensing satellites, navigation satellite applications, and surveying applications to fully support the advancement of relevant work.

Their services extend to multiple business domains, including geographic information, trade, culture and tourism, healthcare, risk prevention and control, energy engineering, and infrastructure.
During the conference, Chairman Yan Lijin also engaged in discussions with relevant experts and scholars on topics such as remote sensing-based groundwater resource exploration and development management and the excavation and utilization of historical map information. China Silk Road Group expressed its commitment to actively promote cooperation with relevant Egyptian institutions to contribute to the sustainable development and management of Egypt’s natural resources and to create more opportunities for the development and cooperation between China and Egypt.
